Prayer Before Confession

O my God, I humbly ask You to enlighten me,
that I may know my sins,
to help me be truly sorry for them,
and to confess them with a contrite heart.

Grant me Your grace,
that I may amend my life,
avoid what leads me to sin,
and grow in holiness.

Holy Spirit, guide me.
Mary, my Mother, intercede for me.
St. Joseph, pray for me.
My guardian angel, protect me.

Amen.
