Are You Born Again? Yes Through Baptism As Jesus Says In John 3:5

Are you born again? Have you ever got this question from Non Catholic Christians? How Should Catholics answer?

As a Catholic the answer is Yes! I was born again in baptism. John 3:5 we read: Jesus answered, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. This is baptism!

All early Christians agreed this verse means baptism.

Next time someone asks you if you are born again you now know how to answer them.

While I agree with your answer, most Catholics are baptized as infants and sponsors give their assent. Sometime adult Catholics need to personalize or accept their spiritual walk with the Lord. Hopefully Confirmation will deepen a faith commitment, but you need more than going to Mass once a week or saying that my family is Catholic.

Last night I was asked by one of my Junior High School friends. Wow, I said, I will get back to you. As I didn’t remember the answer. I feel so sad that I try to remember these answers to their questions. So when I get asked I’m ready to answer. I gotta keep trying to remember. Thanks for the answer…….

Jesus talked about being born again with water and spirit. That means water baptism, and Holy spirit baptism. These are two different kinds of baptism. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, then was filled with Holy spirit.

Thank you, Thank you. As a Christian myself, I questioned this. I was baptised as an infant, which is typical, however I was informed by a Christian outside of the Catholic religion that you can’t be saved unless you accept the Lord in a conscience level. A baby doesn’t have the ability to make that decision.

As true Catholics we should all know the answer is Baptism. However, thank you so much for the reference to John 3.5. Most of us can feel more emboldened with facts from scripture. Please continue your message.
